What Sets MUA Apart
Achieve Residency Placement Success

At MUA, our students are at the heart of everything we do. Our Doctor of Medicine (MD) program is designed to align with top U.S. and Canadian medical schools. It features five semesters of classroom and lab-based learning on our Nevis campus, followed by five semesters of clinical rotations at affiliated teaching hospitals, clinics and medical centers in the U.S., and select elective rotation sites in Canada.
Balancing Academics and Personal Success
At MUA, attendees thrive in a supportive community where guidance is always available from faculty and student services. They also benefit greatly from access to enriching organizations, clubs, study groups and island activities. Most importantly, our students are always more than a number – we get to know them personally and work hard to help them achieve their individual goals. Learn more about the MUA learning environment in this graduate testimonial video from Suraj Tandon, MD.
The curriculum was one that was astounding. It prepared you for the USMLE Step 1... The ratio for the faculty to the students was very, very small, so you got that one-on-one interaction with them. If you needed help after hours, or even during break time, just asking about a concept, they really got to know the students.

Vijitha Mahalingam, MD
MUA Alum 2019

By far the best part of going to MUA was the teachers, especially during the Basic Science years. They’re all very well trained. The environment on campus is very warm and greeting. You’re going to see your teachers, you’re going to be able to talk to them. Everything is arranged in a small, cozy campus kind of vibe.

MUA Alum
When I moved into clinical rotations, and with the support that the school and staff had given me, I was well prepared for the transition to the United States. I had everything that I needed, either on-island or in the U.S. during the core rotations period and through electives, to help me be successful.
